Spooks and Tea

Spooks and Tea 2018: Ritual Tasks

This month, my book club, Books and Tea, is hosting Spooks and Tea. It’s our annual spooky read-athon, but we also have some other things to challenge us and keep us on our toes.
  • Coven Goals
    • What do you plan to read or do this month?
  • Grimoire Notes
    • Keep the club updated on your goal progress.
  • Ritual Tasks
    • A list of challenges made by Lauren for us to try to accomplish during the month.
  • Spell List
    • Basically book spine poetry with a spooky theme.
This week, I’m going to talk about my ritual tasks for the month. Hopefully I can accomplish them!

Read a book at night
I read a lot at night. I actually prefer to read horror before bed.  Gives me just the right feels.

Recommend a book (cause we need to share more of that love for horror)
The Good Demon by Jimmy Cajoleas
Locke & Key (6 volumes) by Joe Hill
Uzumaki (3 volumes) by Junji Ito

Do a spooky book review
Can do!

Pick a horror novel without reading the synopsis (aka go into blindly)
I’m reading New Fears 2 and I have no idea what any of the stories are about.

Buddy read a horror novel
I’m reading A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay with a member of the book club!

Read a book that is over 200 pages
Any of my reads are going to be over 200 pages, aside from comics usually.

Re-read your favorite Halloween read
See buddy read! I thought it was the perfect opportunity to recommend a book and also get a re-read in.

Create at least one spell list
I can try, but a lot of my books start with “The” or “A,” so it’s gonna be difficult!

Be on the look out for more October themed posts!!
