October Theme: It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
What’s your favorite Halloween read? It doesn’t have to be scary! It could be a thriller or a suspense or even a comedy! What Halloween movie would go well with it? Or if you can’t think of one, what’s your favorite Halloween movie? (just a PSA, Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas movie, not Halloween 😉 feel free to debate me in the comments).
I read so much horror and thrillers throughout the year, that this question is hard (and I made it up…). Right now, I’m rereading one of my favorites, though I’ve never read it at this time of the year before. As most of my friends know, A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay is my favorite. I’m doing a buddy-read with a member of Books and Tea. It’s still creeps me out and shocks me, even though I’ve read it before. Maybe it’s because I’ve dealt with schizophrenia before and I understand how it can work, but also just imagining myself in the main character’s shoes. I would never want to go through what she did.
A movie that would go with it would definitely be The Exorcist (obviously), maybe Jennifer’s Body (for the weird stuff she does), and The Conjuring 2. I could see similarities from the book reflected in all of these in some way.
I’m tagging: Anyone and everyone!!
This was created by my friend Melanie / The Library of Mars. We would do this on Tumblr, back when that was my only reviewing platform. I’ve been wanting to do something more on my blog because my reviews are as unpredictable as my reading habits. I thought this would be a fun way to promote something that you love.
I’ll be posting my Micro Reviews on the first and third Mondays of the month.
