Micro Brew Archive

A backlog of the Micro Brew* themes and prompts

*Previously Micro Reviews

This was created by my friend Melanie / The Library of Mars. We would do this on Tumblr, back when that was my only reviewing platform. I’ve been wanting to do something more on my blog because my reviews are as unpredictable as my reading habits. I thought this would be a fun way to promo something that you love.

  • Monthly theme with bi-weekly prompts
  • Anyone is allowed to participate, no tagging necessary (unless you want to)
  • Can be a book, game, writing w.i.p. or an art piece. Doesn’t have to be a current read or project, just anything that fits the theme.
  • It can be as long or as short as you want, there’s no pressure to make it fancy and professional

Rules:

  1. Tag me, Hexen Librarian
  2. Visit Melanie on Twitter
  3. Include explanation
  4. Feature the header
  5. Post the theme and prompt for the post
  6. Complete the prompt, no tagging necessary.

March Theme: Spring Cleaning

Prompt 1: March 4

  • This week’s prompt comes from Anthony over at KeepReadingForward:What book would you die on a hill for? What makes it so special to you? Is there something about it others don’t like? (Obviously, this isn’t here to bash other’s faves, but to acknowledge that you can still like something even if it’s problematic or not a universal fave)

Prompt 2: March 18

  • Lauren at NorthernPlunder came up with this week’s prompt: Reflect on your blogging thus far. Is it going the way you thought it would? Are you seeing an improvement? What could your followers do to help? What direction do you see your blog going? (These are just some starting points, you don’t have to answer the questions if you don’t want)
