Micro Review Archive

A backlog of the Micro Review themes and prompts

This was created by my friend Melanie / The Library of Mars. We would do this on Tumblr, back when that was my only reviewing platform. I’ve been wanting to do something more on my blog because my reviews are as unpredictable as my reading habits. I thought this would be a fun way to promo something that you love.

  • Monthly theme with weekly/bi-weekly prompts
  • Anyone is allowed to participate, no tagging necessary (unless you want to)
  • Can be a book, game, writing w.i.p. or an art piece. Doesn’t have to be a current read or project, just anything that fits the theme.
  • It can be as long or as short as you want, there’s no pressure to make it fancy and professional

  1. Tag me, Hexen Librarian
  2. Visit Melanie on Twitter
  3. Include explanation
  4. Feature the header
  5. Post the theme and prompt for the post
  6. Complete the prompt, no tagging necessary.
August 2018: Gettin’ Comfy
  • 1.1: Aug 6
    • Tell us about yourself. What do you do in your free time? What are you reading currently? Writing? Playing? Drawing? Feel free to share if you’d like.
  • 1.2: Aug 20
    • Talk about your favorite book, sell it. What about it makes you love it? Do that meme thing where you use pictures to spoil the books but without any context
September 2018: Fall is here! (well almost)
  • Prompt 1: September 3
    • What’s your favorite season? Do you cater your reading to the season or do you just read whatever, whenever? Thoughts on the Pumpkin Spice Latte?
  • Prompt 2: September 17
    • What weather do you prefer for reading? Do you enjoy reading under the sun in the garden? Or snuggled up whilst storms pound your windows. Do you prefer reading in your house? The garden? Or even just in a train or bus?
      • This question comes from fellow book club member and all-around good boi, Paul! Thanks!
